Executive Director Brendan O’Connor Webster, M.A., CCC-SLP, BRSCL founded the Center for Speech and Language Disorders in 1982. Although Mrs. Webster has been recognized by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) as a Specialist in Child Language, she remains dedicated to working also with adults with speech, language, and voice problems. Accented communication remains an interest as well. She holds ASHA’s Certificate of Clinical Competence, and has twice received ASHA’s Continuing Education Award. Mrs. Webster has been trained in PROMPT therapeutic methods for individuals with motor speech and articulation disorders, has taken multiple trainings in the SCERTS Model for children with Autism, and is certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment method for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Mrs. Webster received her license to practice speech pathology from the State of California Speech Pathology and Audiology Licensing Board. She lives at home in Menlo Park with her husband and has three grown children.
Program Director Alex Webster Guiney, M.A. has a Masters’ in Special Education and has worked with teachers and students of all ages for the past five years. The daughter of Executive Director Brendan O’Connor Webster, she first worked Yikes Tikes! as an aide in 2003. Since then, she has worked in New York City public schools as a high-school special educator, leading teacher teams, working with parents, and specializing in general education classroom integration for children with special needs. She joined the Yikes Tikes! team as program director in March of 2012.
Head Teacher Hajer Suliman is an Early Childhood Educator, with over five years of experience working in child development and preschool settings. She has earned 25 Early Childhood Education units at Ohlone College, meeting the requirements for the California Child Development Teacher. Hajer has been involved with community outreach projects in Fullerton, California serving economically disadvantaged children and has volunteered her time providing educational resources for parents and caregivers.
Teacher Monalisa Villamar is an Early Childhood Educator with a B.A. in Consumer and Family Sciences from San Francisco State University and a California Child Development Teacher’s permit. With four years experience working as a case manager and lead teacher for a non-profit family services agency, Monalisa excels at creating a positive rapport with infants, toddlers, and families. She works to encourage family involvement in helping children towards their developmental and educational goals.
